Limited Participation - Each school is only allowed 3 runners for individual events and 1 relay team for each relay race. This means some of you will not be going to Sturgis. If you are signed up for the meet we expect you to be there.

Bus - The bus leaves West at 7:15 AM on Saturday. You may ride the bus or you may ride with your parents. Let your coach know by Wednesday if you plan on riding the bus to Sturgis. Bring your coach a note from one of your parents if you are riding to Sturgis on the bus but coming back with your parents.

Camp - Set up camp in the middle of the football field with the other West runners. No tents, boom boxes, baseballs, footballs or anything else that can be thrown are allowed at the track. Runners may not leave the track area to walk downtown. Please clean up the litter before you leave.

Stickers - Before you run a race you must get a sticker from Mr. Knapp. The last runner on the relay team will wear the sticker. Place the sticker on your jersey before you run. At the end of your race, stay in your lane and wait for an offical to take your sticker. To get your time, ask Mr. Hilton. He will be sitting in the bleachers.

400 M. Dash - The 400 M. Dash is by invitation only. We will let you know by Friday if you are running the 400.

400 M. Relay - A trophy is awarded to the winner in each division of the 400 M. Relay.

Lunch - Students may bring a sack lunch or buy lunch from the concession stand. Eat healthy! If you bring cookies, make sure you pack an extra one for Mr. Knapp!!!

State Activities Association Track Rules

• no jewelry
• shirts must be tucked in
• runners must wear their school shorts and t-shirt even when not running
• no tents, boom boxes, baseball, footballs or anything else that can be thrown
