The Virtual Campus Registration Information

In order to apply for a course at The Virtual Campus, you must fill out the correct forms. The forms are provided in two formats:


  • Microsoft Word®, in which you may download the files, open them in Microsoft Word, type in your information, save the forms, and email them as an attachment. You may also FAX or mail them to The Virtual Campus.
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader®, in which you will need to download the forms, open them in Adobe Acrobat Reader, type or hand write your information, hand deliver, mail or FAX them to The Virtual Campus.
You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open Acrobat Files. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader, click <Here> to download it. It is a free application available for all computer platforms.


  1. All students must fill out and submit The Virtual Campus Registration Form, Consent and Payment Form, the Polices and Rules Form, include payment, and send a copy of their latest high school transcript to The Virtual Campus at 730 East Watertown Street Street, Rapid City, SD 57701 or FAX a copy to 605-721-7367.
  2. All students over the age of 21 must complete an Over 21 Form
  3. You must register through your own district.
  4. If you do not reside within the Rapid City School District, you may Open Enroll. Fill out an Open Enrollment Form. The Virtual Campus will send you the form if you call: 605-721-7736. It is up to you to apply for open enrollment from your school district before your application will be completed with The Virtual Campus. Send the completed Open Enrollment Form to

No student will be permitted to start a class without all paperwork completed and payment received prior to the beginning date of the class.
  • All half credit courses are $60 per half credit for district students; $310 for out of district and out of state students per half credit.

Money will only be refunded before actual course enrollment has taken place. If you decide not to complete the Student Orientation, please contact The Virtual Campus (605-721-7736). You will have seven days to complete the Student Orientation. If you fail to do it within this time constraint, you will be refunded your money and dropped from the online campus.

You may drop without a failure during the first two weeks of taking a course. If you drop after the first two weeks, you will drop with a failing grade. No money will be refunded for any dropped student unless approved by the Principal of The Virtual Campus.
