From Thanksgiving Activites

Language Arts
This is set up as a basic web quest exploring different aspects of the Thanksgiving with Language Arts activities for students to complete through the quest. An expression of thanks is extended to Classroom Connect for their permission to use information found in their November 2000 Newsletter.

 Thanksgiving Web Sites

This pages starts with a site where children can express their thanks to someone who does things for them by writing and then printing out a certificate for that person.

Other variety of sites are listed for more learning activites centered around the theme of Thanksgiving for elementary students. There are even some great teaching resources and ideas! Explore them!

 December-January Holidays Web Quest
In many countries, December and January bring exciting holidays and festivals. Here's a chance to focus on a multicultural study of winter celebrations using the Internet. This winter you can help your class understand the differences and similarities that make our world the colorful and diverse place that it is.

It's Christmas at Pleasant Grove
This site starts with a homepage of three special holidays: CHRISTMAS, HANUKKAH, and KWANZAA. Select which one! In the Christmas page there is such a wealth of sites to explore for learning and fun! Many sites on how Christmas is celebrated in different countries. Check out the neat Scavenger Hunts too! This site has some cute activities for Christmas, and can even carry into January with the snowman activities.

On this page, everything you click on takes you somewhere. Click on the Post Office to send E-mail to Santa, or to add your name to Santa's E-mail list. The Library has stories to read, pictures for you to print out & color, Sing-Along Christmas Carols, and holiday crafts. Want to play fun games like Word Search & The Nutcracker Game? Just click on any of the children in the Playground.

 Chinese New Year begins Wednesday, January 24, with celebrations for 15 days. To celebrate the Year of the Snake, look at this site about the holiday!
